Biggest Musical Influence?
Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt, Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris, Wynonna Judd, Anne Wilson
If you were not an artist right now what would you be doing?
If probably be somewhere selling repurposed furniture and hunting for antiques. Lol! I’m a sucker for old shit and love taking something that’s been loved for a long time, forgotten and found and turning it into a newly loved piece at home. Or maybe I’d be a big, bad, biker mama! Who knows! Music has always been a huge presence in my life, so it’s hard to imagine not doing what I love so much every day!
If you could give one message to your fans. What would it be?
If I had one thing to tell my fans, it would first of all be “Thank you”. I can’t thank those who have followed me for the years they have and also the ones who I gained as fans during my time on The Voice in season 15. I love that they know that the performances I did on the show don’t define me and I have so much left for them to experience with me along the way in music. It’s been a fantastic ride. There is so much more in store, so everyone should stay tuned!
What is the weirdest or funniest question you have ever been asked by a fan?
I get a lot of questions about whether or not my tattoos “hurt”. Well not now, but of course some of them were more painful than the others. The real answer is, all of the pain is momentary- kind of like life. We all go through moments in our life that are painful. Heartbreak, divorce, loss, pain, grief, anxiety, depression… all of these major pains in life are momentary. We can always come out on the other side and experience the joy that we couldn’t appreciate unless we got through the pain. Tattoos are like that for me. Despite the pain, there’s beauty and something to show for on the other side of that pain. So there’s always something to look forward to.
