Story behind the Song:
Lyssa finds it important to allow her listeners to put their own definition to her music and interpret it in own way, but her and Hagopian’s over all thought process for “Maybe Tonight” was to create a song that somehow reflected “Whiskey in the Twilight”. “We wanted to keep the theme of a love story, but also dig a little deeper in the sense of wanting to live in the moment and the desire to stay kids forever. Rodger and I are both kids at heart so it was something we both were truly able to relate to.”
Rodger and Lyssa created a demo which provided an image for what they wanted the track to sound like. They envisioned the song to start off simple and pretty and have it slowly continue to build big throughout.
Lyssa worked with Chris Parker (Digital Timbre) on her EP- “After Midnight”, and she immediately KNEW he would hear the song and understand the image the same way she did. Coulter told him they wanted a cross between “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol and “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus musically, and he reflected that perfectly. He made this song come alive, and truly created a story with every instrument brought into each part of the song.
